GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Business Development Representative is responsible for maintaining and developing relationships while managing the sales cycle of current and new customers in the company’s bedding unit. This role includes developing account plans to grow business with new and existing accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and execute on new or existing customer opportunities that align with company goals and objectives.
• Develop strong customer and partner relationships with customers within assigned territory and build strong networks and affiliations within key market segments.
• Manage internal product development process for customer projects.
• Coordinate commercial activities with cross functional teams: design, supply chain, and production departments at assigned accounts.
• Utilize Account Plans to document strategies, internal personnel needs, customer and competitor profiles, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with production department and customer service to forecast sales.
• Create inventory sales reports and follow-up with customers to limit obsolete stock.
• Build the image of the company and its worldwide presence and managerial philosophy and objectives.
• Assist internal departments in order fulfillment (customer service, sample-making, shipping, and accounting);
• Handle complaints and collaborate with quality and manufacturing department to resolve problems.
• Attend sales meetings to exchange ideas, techniques, methods, etc. that enhance company sales.
• Provide market-based feedback regarding new product opportunities.
• Represent the company at trade shows and conventions to maintain customer relations, to market new products, etc.
• Maintain consistent visitation schedule between all assigned territories.
• Coordinate sales effort with team members in order to try promoting the same samples and selling the same product.

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs. sample bags and transport them.
• 50% - 70% traveling required (may include international)

EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing, or Textiles. • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a b2b sales business development or account management position. • Previous experience with textiles is preferred.
